July 19 to 21, the 15th national dean / department chair of mechanical engineering joint conference undertaken by Shandong University, Jinan University and Qilu University of Technology was held in Nanjiao Hotel, near 600 dean / department chair of mechanical engineering from 212 universities in country attend the meeting. National dean / department chair of mechanical engineering joint conference is a professional grand gathering with great influence and charisma in educational circle of mechanical engineering, and an important platform to cohere with educational circle force, to reinforce academic exchange and to enhance scholar friendship. “Innovation and entrepreneurship talents training and double first-rate discipline construction” is the theme of this convention.



Professor Yiming Rong, department chair of mechanical and energy engineering of SUSTech, made a keynote speech named “mechanical engineering practice education at SUSTech”. Main point as follow: 20th century engineering achievement and 21st century engineering challenge, change of engineering personnel quality requirements in modern society, practice is the key of engineering education, education characteristic of SUSTech and specialty of department of mechanical and energy engineering.
