On the morning of May 11, 2016, Department of mechanical and energy engineering dean professor Yi Ming Rong led three Student representatives (Xu Kang, Zhang Xiaoyu, and Diao Jinlong) of Nanshan Race Team, which has about 30 members, to visit school of mechanical and Electrical Engineering and School of automobile and traffic in Shen Zhen Polytechnic, in order to find teachers who can make guidance to assemble race team’s own F1 racing car and related hardware and equipment.

This story is about half a year ago, When professor Rong has not officially arrived. There have been a freshman to look for him, said he wanted to assemble a race car. The freshman of SUSTC has such qualities of independent thinking , wants to learn most advanced knowledge and the leading edge stuff . Professor Rong was deeply impressed by their enthusiasm, and promised to provide them with relevant support.

During this time, students have been wandering around in many colleges and universities in Guangdong Province, include South China Science and technology University, South China Agricultural University, Guangdong University of Technology, Shenzhen University etc. This time, Professor Rong and three student representatives visit Shen Zhen Polytechnic in order to find hardwire and equipment to assemble the race car for the team and find out the problems that possibly occurred during the assembly. This visit led by Professor Liao Qianghua and Professor XuXi, visiting locations including：Modern design and manufacturing technology lab, Mold technology lab, Mechanical and Electrical integration technology lab, etc. Professor Rong began to explain the functions and characteristics of each piece of equipment at the sight of the familiar device, and to answer students' questions patiently.
