The Competition attracted over 100 teams from the Top 60 domestic institutions and enterprises, including Tsinghua University, Peking University, Hong Kong University, Zhejiang University, Sun Yat-sen University, Harbin Institute of Technology, to compete for the top prize in 49 different events, including robot dancing, fencing and balance beam.
The contest saw each teams’ robots battling each other in an arena, and out of a total of 16 events the SUSTech team won three first prizes, six second prizes and four third prizes. The team was awarded first prize for their outstanding performance in the ‘robot gymnastics horizontal bar’ competition and ‘robot combat’ competition, and they shared the first prize with Huazhong University of Science and Technology and Northwestern Polytechnical University in the humanoid robot competition.
SUSTech team
Department of Mechanical and Energy Engineering Associate Professor Ke Wende and Shude Residential College counselor Li Siming led the SUSTech team into the contest. The team members include six undergraduate students, who are Li Shenggao, Lu Rui, Lin Wenchun, Lu Zeyu, Zhu Guangzhi and Zhan Yu.
