The Award was jointly established by the China Non-ferrous Metals Industry Association and the China Non-ferrous Metals Society for the units and individuals who have made contributions to the progress of the non-ferrous metal industry in China.
Based on the traditional die-casting technology, Qiang ZHU’s team developed a semi-solid rheological die-casting process and produced several high strength and tough aluminum alloy semi-solid die-casting structural parts, which have been used in automobiles, rail transit, and other fields. They have developed more than 30 kinds of lightweight key parts for automobiles, that have passed industry testing and obtained three invention patents and four utility model patents.
For his outstanding contributions in advancing the development of semi-solid processing technology, Qiang ZHU was awarded the “Outstanding Contribution Award” by the International Semi-Solid Academic Committee.
Zhu Qiang currently serves as the executive member of the International Semi-Solid Technical Committee and the director of the Semi-Solid Technical Committee of the China Foundry Association (CFA). The project was supported by the National Science and Technology Support Program, the International Cooperation Project, and the Shenzhen Peacock Plan Program.
