Dr. Zhou Cong is Research Associate Professor at Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech). He is a member of Laser Processing Committee of COS, a senior member of CMES and a senior member of COS. Dr. Zhou received Ph.D degree in Electrical Engineering from Southwest Jiaotong University in September 2012. From 2008 to 2019, He was joint PhD student and RA in Computer Information in CNRS, Sorbonne University, France. From 2013 to 2019, he was an associate researcher in Hunan University, and was a director of intelligent welding robot application laboratory in 2017. He was a visiting scholar of University of Utah from 2018-2019. His research area includes grinding wheel dressing, laser micro machining, signal detection and control, numerical simulation, laser welding and welding seam tracking technology. He has presided (joined) over 20 scientific research projects which are from National Science and Technology Major Project, National Key Research and Development Project, NFSC, and Industrial cooperation projects etc. He has published 60 technical papers and has11 patents. He won a 2nd prize of S&T Progress Award of the Ministry of Education the ministry of education and a 1st prize for China Machinery Industry S&T Progress Award.
